Quotes from The Warden

Some quotes that I enjoyed from The Warden, by Anthony Trollope:

"They say that faint heart never won fair lady; and it is amazing to me how fair ladies are won, so faint are often men's hearts!" -Pg. 43*

"'Tis a pity that he should not have recognised the fact, that in this world no good is unalloyed, and that there is but little evil that has not in it some seed of what is goodly." -Pg 94

"Nobody and everybody are always very kind, but unfortunately are very generally wrong." -Pg. 98

"There were quantities of books, and long rows of sofas. What on earth could be more luxurious than a sofa, a book, and a cup of coffee?" -Pg. 107

"A man is never the best judge of his own position." -Pg. 111

And this is why Anthony Trollope is in danger of being added to my list of favorite authors.
